I am involved with figurative work in two and three dimensional form. I believe that people have always been drawn to the human form both prehistorically from cave drawings and on a personal level from the earliest childhood stick figure drawings. My interest is in finding the balance between portraying the universal figure in a less than realistic fashion and also at the same time divulging some unique characteristics of that same figure. For instance, an armless figure may show an exposed thinking apparatus in the head or perhaps reveal some personal aspect through the choice of its garment. In order to achieve this most effectively, I work with a variety of mixed media. Judy Jordan |
